What is Agile?

Scale Smarter with the right type of Agile Transformation.

Up to 95% of organizations have some experience with Agile, but only 42% of Agile projects are successful. While that’s more than traditional Waterfall projects (26%), many organizations see continuous need to evaluate how they measure outcomes and manage their investments.

Agile Transformations are best when they are customized to your context, taking the best ideas and combining them with the already-great parts of your organization.

Clarus Group runs an Agile practice that is deeply experienced and certified in leading and teaching the scaling methodology, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). We can keep you informed on how popular ideas like DevSecOps fit with concepts from Project to Product, while taking a hands-on, incremental approach to building better quality products alongside you.

What is Agile?

The term “Agile” was first used by a group of Software pundits who gathered at a ski lodge in Snowbird, Utah for the express purpose of naming and defining the greater movement in which they deemed themselves to all be participants. The original invitation to Snowbird went out to those interested in “lightweight” development frameworks. The attendees agreed that they didn’t like the negative connotations of that term, and agreed to adopt the term “Agile.”

One of the top impediments to unlocking effective scaled delivery models is not having all the tools in place that your teams need to be successful.

Whether you have one team and you are struggling to get to the root cause of performance issues, or you’re a mature organization looking to get more systematic in your approach to feedback, a balanced scorecard will bring transparency and enthusiasm to the cycle of continuous improvement.

Discussions with leaders who have the interest and authority to enact organizational and structural changes. Typically these conversations lead to an immediate set of recommendations that can be further distilled as part of an organizational transformation.

Agile Balanced Score Card

We’ll create a set of dashboards that drive visibility into work that teams are doing and that can be applied to program and executive dashboards as well. Utilizing competing, balanced metrics, these dashboards will tell the true story behind how your teams are doing.

Whether you have one team and you are struggling to get to the root cause of performance issues, or you’re a mature organization looking to get more systematic in your approach to feedback, a balanced scorecard will bring transparency and enthusiasm to the cycle of continuous improvement.

We’ll work together to understand what data is available and select metrics to begin with, then we’ll need access to systems to set up the dashboards, train your leaders or coaches, and then to train your teams. All in all, it’s a 6-8 week process at the end of which you get an initial set of dashboards with coaching insights team by team.

Innovation Jumpstart Workshop

At least two weeks’ planning ahead of time, working together on topics and logistics, and then we will facilitate the workshop over the course of 2.5 days. Afterwards, we will provide a summary of the event that will indicate what the teams and you as an organization got from your investment of time, and how you can continue the process to continue to spark innovation

Whether you are forming a new team or your 200-pod organization has started to feel stagnant, this workshop can inject excitement and focus to teams when needed. It aligns with the principles of Continuous Exploration and shows how organizations can effectively and responsibly include Innovation in your regular delivery cycles.
